Will this blow the MK4 to pieces?
« on: 03 January 2010, 08:56 »
after searching the interner for a suitable turbo upgrade for my MK4 AGU, i found this

http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=tp&Product_Code=ATP-VVW-202&Category_Code=VVWTK

now will keeping the boost wound down of course, what sort of engine internal replacement am i looking at? ill take it that i will have to get new pistons, Conns, crank seals etc etc. has anyone done this before and what was your experence with it? anyone got experence with garret turbos on their golfs?

im looking for over 300hp.

p.s cannot order or do anything form UK as i do not live there and getting parts from US is far cheaper for me.

You'll be lucky to get 300 out of that. The manifold/adaptor design is way to restrictive for the turbo it's attached to.

If you're going as far as having the engine rebuilt then a bolt-on kit seems like a waste of money and effort. You need to have your goals clear in your mind and do a lot more reading/research rather than just popping out random questions. Reliable big power is a costly and long term endeavour!
