Spec 2 on a standard car?
« on: 17 December 2009, 13:15 »
So im thinking of selling my car. As you know there comes a time in every mans life when he feels the need for a diesel

As ill probably get similar money for my car weather its modded or not i was thinking to get a PD130 and swap everything over, and sell the exhaust/intercooler off mine so it would be pretty much standard minus the 007P and a couple of other bits

however it does still have the spec 2 map on it. Ben did say that it should be alright with this map or i could swing by to get a stage 1 put on. Im still in 2 minds as to what to do though? would there be much difference in it, bearing in mind it would have full standard exhaust/intercooler etc etc?

Cheers
dez

You can only swap the catback system over dude, the downpipe/cat won't fit a diesel. I'm pretty sure your map will be fine but Nick will have to confirm.

i wasnt intending on swapping the exhaust over, as mentioned above was thinkin of selling the exhaust and intercooler and swapping all the suspension/other bits over.

will the cat back from a 1.8t fit a PD 130 then? wasnt aware of that!

the only bit i dont get is that i thought you needed an FMIC for spec 2?

its tricky, sometimes you can get away with it but i remember your map was tweaked to suit your car specifically

depending on what was changed you might be better off paying us a visit to put a milder map on at some point.. isn't an immediate concern with december temperatures, but come summer time whoever you sell the car to might have issues on the current map.

also what about the fueling as i guess the potential new owner will want to use normal fuel as apposed to high octane that is required with the spec 2 map?

when are you open as normal again?
