Hey all, as above, this morning there was a bit of ice on the window but i had already sprayed anti freeze on it and then wound the window down to clear the slush, however, there most have been some remaining and it was jammed. So i left it. Now at work, its warmed up a bit and the ice must have melted allowing the window to drop.

What do you guys think is the cause guys?

Expensive to fix?

Easy to fix?

Thanks, James

jack & a couple blocks of wood might be able to sort it otherwise you might need new hinges

lol i was wondering how the slush manged to drop your door

most likely your window clips have failed - they were plastic and the repair kit now consists of metal clips

about £30 per side for the repair kit and a couple of hours work if you do it yourself

The same happened to mine, but luckily when I took the door card off I found I already had the upgraded metal brackets fitted, so I just put the window back in and job done. Take it apart and have a look, you might be lucky like me. If not cut a bit of wood to the exact size and wedge your window shut (bottom of the window and the floor inside the door) untill you can get a new kit fitted

Sorted it, the blocks that move the windo up and down had slid off while the window was suspended due the the ice sticking it in place. Once i wound them down the pulled of and then once the ice melted it dropped, and did fall back onto the blocks....

All done!!!

Free fix = happy

Also, the housing was all metal.
