Golf MK6 1.6 TDi S (105 PS) Arm rest
« on: 29 December 2009, 14:12 »
Hi!

I have Golf MK6 1.6 TDi S (105 PS) imported from germany and it came with no armrest. I went to my local vw dealer for a quote and they gave me a quote for £620 for the armrest parts+labour which I think is a bit of a rip off. Anyone know any after-market arm rest products which i could get fitted into an mk6. I did see a genuine vw mk6 armrest for about £210 on ebay.

Was wondering if i do buy this who will fit it for me and any idea of how much i should expect as labour costs.

I would have thought that if you know how to use an Allen key, then you should be able to fit it yourself. Give it a go; you'd be amazed how much like a Meccano set these cars are underneath.

IIRC people were getting similar quotes to retrofit an armrest in the mk5.  Presumably the mk6 still has the air vents in the back of the armrest for the rear seats?  This is what a lot of the cost is about - making these work.  If you're not bothered its straightforward to fit.  I'm sure there are some how to's for the mk5 if you google them.  The fundamentals will be the same if not the details...
