mk1 campaign trim question
« on: 07 October 2004, 13:23 »
someone mailed me this question and rather than search for pics of a mk1 thought i would ask the motley crew ;)

on a black mk1 campaign that has silver stick on trim down the sides, does the rear hatch panel still have black vinyl trim stuck on it? the stuff around the rear window

guess someone is doing a resto job and this is even a VW dealer asking me! :)

cheers,

jv

My mk1 is an early '83 on a Y plate so it only misses being a proper campaign by a couple of months. It has black vinyl around the boot lid, not exactly cast iron proof but it does have every other campaign speck except for the plate and the vin number.

I have seen the original ones with it still on, it is very hard to get hold of teh real replacments, the replacments have a join where as the original didn't.
If you know a good body shop who know there stuff they can paint one on, so no joins at all!

To get the right answers better have a word with Drew he knows it all  ;D

Yeah you're right, Drew would be the man to ask ;)

I'd be suprised to find that the black one's would have it. My X plate one has it, but thats white :-\
