Mk2 rear lights - bulb upgrade
« on: 24 November 2009, 22:55 »
Hi guys,

a quick question. Having upgraded my front lights with bulbs, cables and relays I want to increase the output of my rear driving lights (not brake lights) as they are very dim these days.

I've stumbled over some 12v 21w bulbs spare in my garage which are the right size to replace my 5w items.

Is the loom and fuses man enough? Any other ideas? I don't want to replace the ight units just uprate the wattage as the car gets filthy within a day on the local roads near me so any help would be good.

Cheers
M

i use 12v 10w in mine and they work fine and provide a brighter rear light, ithink the 21w would be the same as your brake lights and may   confuse people behind you

you could try them see if they are as bright as the brake lights, im not sure about the requiring relays but they may blow the fuse  :undecided:

if the're dirty alot just carry a rag in the door pocket and give em a wipe in the mornings

wayne gardner smokes one rothmans too many
500cc 2stroke bad for ya health

dont do that, they'll be far too bight. just fit new bulbs that are correct, they'll be more than bright enough.

21w is brake & fog light rating, will blind anyone driving behind.
