Alarm light
« on: 20 May 2010, 09:29 »
Just a quick question. When you lock your car does the red light (drivers door side) flash or stay on constantly?

Mine has not worked since being in the bodyshop, got it fixed yesterday and I am quite sure it used to flash. Now it just stays on constantly.

No worries mate
The alarm light on my mk5 used to stay on permenant and not flash, took it to VW who had it all day might i add. Got home, locked my car and no light at all. Thought that was strange, had a closer look and they hadn't put the LED back in

Occaisionally when I locked my Mk5 the red light lit up but did not flash, or when I unlocked it the red light stayed on. Unlocking then relocking seemed to reset it to work normally. I probably should have had the VW garage look at it but I have sold the car now and my mk6 seems to be okay as far as the alarm light is concerned.

I thought the correct operation is lights up solid for 30seconds then reverts to a flashing mode.
