Brake Pads
« on: 21 November 2009, 10:37 »
I find the standard brakes good enough for my style of driving.  My GTI is Nov 2005 and I am still on the original pads (48 000Km) although the fronts are getting to the point where they should be replaced.  No wear warning however.
I sourced and purchased a complete set of Ferodo Premier pads from the excellent website www.oscaro.com as they were offering huge discounts on Ferodo.  The fronts are FDB1641 and the rears FDB1636
Anyone have any experience of these pads?
On reflection, maybe I should have gone for the Ate pads as the braking system is, after all, Ate?
Any comments gratefully received.............

Never heard of the premiere pad range, Ferodo do offer a performance road pad which is a step down from the DS2500 pad but offers superior performance over the standard Reg 90 approved compounds.
I have it on the front on my edition 30 which along with Motul rb600 fluid is an excellent combination.
