Hey guys,

Got a black mk3 gti....

1. whats the best polish to use on it?

2. All Plastics (arches, bumpers, spoilers etc) Whats the best product to use to get them black again)
    And Do I have to remove the plastics before the task?

3. For my interior, whats the best product to remove the odd stains...

Just hate the fading plastic trims going grey. looks sooooooooo ugly.

When I had arches etc fitted, I used bumpercare from autoglym

WD-40 works well on the black bumpers, and it avoids getting those distinctive white water lines you see, spray on a cloth and then wipe / buff with a clean rag.. I also heard you can use (smooth) peanut butter, although you need to be brave to try this . Basically any oil based substance will work.

Used boiled Linseed oil on my bumpers few days back. Messy old job but they came up a treat, really black trim. Can't comment on durability yet but it's rained heavily several times and they haven't streaked. Does take a while to dry though.

Oh if you do this make sure you soak whatever you use to apply it with in water afterwards to stop any fire risks.

for my trim i used a heat gun and got it right back to black and its still like this 3 months later, best thing ive done on it

What do you actualy do with the heat gun. Just literaly go round the trip warming it up, or do you apply some thing to the trim also?
I have seen this method pop up a lot, but don't know much about it!

i just went back and forth over the trim a few times until u can see it go black then thats it, might have a plastic burning smell , but wont cause any problems, and you can finish it over wit autoglym bumper car or something to protect it. works a treat
