« on: 15 October 2009, 17:25 »
Hi all, just bought this week an auto 5dr mk3 vr6.  Today we have a problem. You shift into drive or any of the other selections but nothing happens, engine idle doesn't drop, no movement at all, any ideas?? Please tell me its a fuse!!

My guess would be the torque converter but I aint no expert on auto boxes.

VR6 AND an auto box?

Definitely one gagging for the metal recyclers.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Sounds like the box has no pressure, you need a specialist to hook up gauges and get some tests done.

Charge pump or torque convertor has failed would be my guess.

Scrapping it will cure this issue also.
