As above you can think of the 16v as a tuned version of the 8v more power and torque but you have to rev it to get it so less "driveable" in town etc the vr6 is a bigger more powerfull engine with a thirst to match something you have to consider with the price of fuel these days.

I think you should put a 1.8T in there. 200bhp + and reasonable MPG.
