I'd say 10mins, then hold brake pedal for 30 secs and even go as far as touching the terminals (not on the battery, on the car with no battery) together so you get every bit out if you want to be 100%.
Golf MK3 1.8 auto and I didn't pay a grand for the "priveledge", auto windows all round and a AC. Oh and I've got a luggage net you pricks!

Does that make my willy look bigger?

Oh yeah it's called Helda or something....

It's better to disconnect the battery, but the other day when I had to take off my Polo steering wheel to adjust the spinwheel, my mate quite happily went to town on the wheel with a screwdriver with the battery connected, I said "feck off am I doing that, you can do it then if the battery isn't disconnected" but needless to say he really gave it some bangs with the battery to connected and nothing went wrong. But to be on the safe side you still should.

I wonder why they say this? Hope it has nothing to do with the function when the airbags go off.

If someone wants to test theirs I'll be up for a watch.

Paul

Think its just Haynes being cautious with bolts that dont get undone very often. They say it about so many! Only ones I would definitely change is head bolts.

I did mine about 6 years ago so bit late to come watch!

Haha yeah when I removed my airbag I never disconnected the battery because I'd literally just tuned my head unit to give out the best sound and didn't wanna have to do it all over again!

Although I was crapping myself so I sat outside the car while I undone the bolts lol

I think the bolts have loctite on them from new. I've never bothered re-coating the bolts when re-using them.
