its regardless. even when the cars warmed up, after i turn ignition off and go to fire it again, it needs the throttle applied for the first few seconds. did u manage to sort it then?

yeah... mine was needing the throttle applied constantly, not just for the first few seconds, otherwise it would die instantly, hot or cold

but it is sorted now... good clean up of the air intake system, and removal and reconnecting of the air mass meter was all it took...

Hook up a pc with Vag Com and read the fault codes. Mine was the Throttle position actutator on the TB. Removed and cleaned the cable that goes into it with electrical contact cleaner, moved the cable away from the hot manifold towards the injectors. Hey presto, sorted.

(£15 for the cable on ebay, software comes with it. Or if you want download for free of their website.)

He means does it not rev past 5K if so your timing could be out.

it does rev past 5k and has no flat spots what so ever. also the idle is a bit funny, kind of revs slightly up and down on its own. checked the ISV and thats all in good working order. who said these golfs were reliable hey?
