JamesBaby     Thanks for the recommendation - could not recommend this E.Bayer enough. Ordered one mid morning yesterday and it's arrived this morning. Fantastic service.  Cheers for the prompt/link.      Deano

Already tried that Mate but I only have 1 port on my laptop. It just doesn't seem to be found on the laptop. I will try the works laptop and let you know. Should take about ten minutes.     Cheers     Deano

You have to select the correct COM port in settings. When you attach the cable to the PC, look in device manager for it, it will say which com port it's assigned. Select this as the Com port in the Vag Com settings. Then plug into the car (no need to start, just turn key to position 2). It should then run that initial setup. Then click 'Save'. So you only do it this once.

Check out the Ross Tech website, or do a search here. The info is there, it's easy enough.

Have now managed to connect the laptop to the Golf and performed and saved the test results as prompted. How do I now go about performing tests on the car etc. Do I need a serial number from Ross Tech or something??  I know very little about computers!!!!!!!!!  Can anyone shed any light??     Cheers     Deano

Got mine through this morning but having a laptop with Vista all it does is crash even running in administrator mode. Awsome managed to find that there is a problem with the airbag but now I can't do anything with it as every button I press causes it to crash.

Any Ideas people?

Thanks...
