Dear guys, i am new to this forum and i just aquired a 2nd hand GTI. My current problem is the glove compartment box refuse to latch back. Despite using the key to lock it, the glove box just refuse to close. I suspect could be due to the internal latch being broken. I rang up VW calbourne (surrey) and they told me is will cost around 140 pounds inclusive of labour to replace the glove box cover and latch. I am wondering if any of you guys could show me direction to a cheaper alternative to resolve this problem. Any other workshop around guildford area which can fix it for me at a lower cost? Thanks.
