My new Golf
« on: 23 September 2009, 17:51 »
hi guys my mate just bought this golf its on a 1999 T plate its a 110BHP 2dr Silver 3 prev owners.

its pretty standard GTTDI does have some extras such as Climate and Sunroof. Quite basic wheels..

I did HPI all clear and Mileage looks spot on

I only paid £1500 for it its got 106k on the clock just wanted to know what your opinions are..

I am goign to change the rear lights and front headlights back to standard and thinkign of maybe imporvign the wheels with monty 2's

The biggest concern for me is that it seems very sluggish theres no eumph in it me previous 02 100se had more kick then this thing has is there soem thign wrong with it?

Do you think i shoudl change the MAF? however i does get upto 100mph eventually but not as quick as puncy as i thought i know i cant compare it to my 150 but my 02 100 gave more of a kick then this.... and this car is the 110bhp any ideas?

The early TDi engines weren't PD so that maybe why it feels sluggish especially compared to the 2002 100bhp which would be a PD engine. I don't think they have the variable turbo either like the later engines. A lot of car though for the money. Should tidy up into a nice motor!

aah right that makes sense u know i read something similer to the pd engines been more kicky.... i test drove it and its ok around 3000revs u feel the kick then.... otherwise the cars in mint condition there's a few little body errors but then again for a ten its wicked, i mean compared to my 03 plate it does not creak at all inside doesnt make any annoyign internel rattles or anythign the guys obviously looked after it wanna get some monty 2 alloys  though these are just a little flimsey gonna take the bad boy lights off too

I'm confused.  You said your mate bought it, but you paid for it.  Who's car is it?
