Looking for advise to purchase VAG-com

Hi all.

Im on my 7th VW now and have just bought the mrs an 03 225 AudiTT.

I have needed VAG-com on a few occasions, but never had it and VW steales want £££ just to plug in a laptop!!!

So ive been thinking of buying VAG com for my self. I looked into it a few years back but got told its was about £200 so didnt bother, as Its only once in a blue moon Ill use it.

Ive seen it on ebay for a little as £15, there seems to be lots of sellers at the mo

Now is this worth a pop, I know its not genuine/O.E. But surley it must work as its simply a copy isnt it? Or am I being very nieave?

I dont have a lap top, but these are easy to get an old one, as I understand it needs to have at least windows 2000 to work?

Id really appreciate peoples opinions and personal experiences on buying VAGCOM, so I can form a decision on what to do and how much I need to spend to make it worth while.

Igot a cheap ebay one and it works fine although i haven't used the share ware software as i got a full version from someone, do a search in the mk4 section for vagcoma nd it will bring up all the answers you need.

Loads on here easier than Vagcom, plus the laptop wont hit the deck in the garage
