Opening passenger door - central locking FUBAR'ed
« on: 25 September 2009, 20:34 »
As the title states really.  The passenger door is shut and will not open at all.  The key does not seem to unlock it, and I cannot get the interior latch to do anything.  The door has been stripped down so I have full access to the internals but I cannot make it budge.  The lock pin, the one that rises vertically from the lock to the window, connects to a small black cylinder that he a number of wires attached to it.  I am assuming that this is some form of electric central locking.  The lock itself is hidden behind the metal structure of the door and relatively out of reach.  I do not want to refit the central locking, I am not even that bothered if the lock will not operate from the key as long as I can unlock it from the inside and then open it from both sides, MOT fail point.  The car is going to be a track toy so central locking etc is not needed.

Many thanks,

Jon

I had the same problem with my rear door its a latch problem try pushing the door in with you body at the same time pull on the handle, not easy,it cured it for a while in the end we had to replace the mech in the door.

Cured, I just unscrewed the electric motor and will permanently detach it tomorrow.
