Just had a call, apparently one of the exhaust inlet manifold motors had seized and needs to be replaced. Not entirely sure what that means, but it's covered anyway so I'm glad I booked it in.

Ahhh, they are the tumble flaps.  Meant to 'swirl' the air as it enters the cylinders, and helps to mix the fuel when it is injected.

I wonder if that is likely to have been affecting perfomance at all?

Highly likely.  Has your fuel consumption worsened?

Thanks TT, I'd been hoping you'd reply!

It has actually, in fact recently I've thought it's been shocking. Had kind of put it down to my driving and the cost of v power!!

Out of interest TT, as one has seized, would there be any merit in me pushing for them all to be replaced?

I think they will just replace the whole intake manifold - I don't think you can open it up to replace individual flaps.  Anyway, I think all the flaps share a common shaft.  But it could be the external actuator which has seized, rather than the actual flaps themselves.  :undecided:
