no wipers or heater blower,

hello, my wipers and heateblower do not work unless i put a small amount of pressure on the headlight switch i the fully on position, what could this be?

how do i remove the switch? iv managed to pull the top part out but what about the bottom part? dont really want to break it lol

thats an odd one, shouldnt happen!  have a look at the x-over relay, #18 on the fusebox. wiggle it about

couldnt find a 18 in the fuse box put i gave them all a wiggle and pushed them in abit, nothing changed lol

il get a new switch from the scrapper or a mate, are the pre and post 90s spec ones the same?

that might explain it! have a read of my fusebox faq, and if the x-over relay slot is empty or has the wrong one in find a 18 relay from your local scrappy and fit it

MK1 thru to MK3 age motors should all have the x-over relay, though the number may differ on older models. the faq lists all the relay numbers as well, iirc 17 is also a x-over relay?

pull the dash fuse for 30seconds that usually fixes it

I have this exact same problem on my early spec mk 2. Just reared it's head in the pouring down rain the other day. I do not have this number 18 relay. There is a small metal relay in the top right hand corner of fuse box but its number 35 I think. Everything worked fine before. Replaced both stalks but no effect.  Advice please.
