how do I get my mk4 on axle stands?

I want to change the oil and it needs to be raised to get the undertray off. I just dont have a clue how to get it on axle stands and where to put them.

Should be in the hand book where to place them.

I usually put them on the chassis legs that extend under the car. No problems when they had to hold it there for nearly 4 hours when i changed the suspension springs on mine.

I went 1 front wheel on the curb & that was enough for me to get to the oil from the front.
