Just thought id say hi, My names john and from the midlands, ive only just come across this site and as im going to be getting a mrk 4 golf pretty soon thought id join and get some pointers for when i come to buy my golf. Just wanted to know is there anything obvious to look out for on the mrk 4's and also is the 1.8 or the 2.0 the better engine of the gti.

1.8t is the best option (more tunable etc) not too many things to look out for blown turbo's make sure the water pump/cambelts been changed. ask about in the mk4 section and you'll find all you need
