boot lock not working
« on: 13 July 2009, 14:18 »
my boot lock has stopped working,

total kaput, no noise at all when lifting the catch.

has anyone experienced this before?

anyone know of a way of manually opening the boot?

I think that there is a plastic catch/trim on the middle of the bootlid trim (inside the car). It has a picture of the car with the boot open on it. I guess maybe you could pull that to open the boot? Maybe check the handbook first.

You will need to fold the rear seats to gain access to it.

that was fitted, i though it was quit reasonable as the local steelers when discussing what it could be with me went on with "well we'll take the tailgate off......blah blah blah, £100 for the part........blah blah blah, might be two days worth of work in it."

Fitted is reasonable as it took me about an hour...and I'm no technician
