gearbox problems

i was on the way today and it was hard to get gear and it snapped on me!!!! not good :sad:
so iu got it home to find that the gear link has snapped does anyone know where i can get the hole lot from???

GSF doo a repair kit for it, you have to buy the arms seperate tho.

^ as said, get the bush repair kit, the arms are quite expensive for a a few pieces of metal so have a look in local scrappies or the classified section. I've still got one I never fitted to my Driver and not sure if it's suitable for the GTD, but I'll keep it non the less as it will come in handy one day.

you're probably looking at about £20 for the lot, I seem to think the bushes are abpout £3.50 and the rods are about £15... hardly breaking the bank and well worth it! Very easy to fit, there must be a whole bunch of guides on here, but if you're logical and replace them one at a time then you cant go too far wrong.

You can buy a complete kit from B and B components,it comes with everything needed all rods bushes everything including new bushes to stop your gearstick being a custard stirrer I bought this kit for my 16v and would recomend it,they advertise on eBay or you can call them.tel:01622 685308 cost about 28 quid including postage.

Thanks for the recommendation Reasty.  I have seen those B and B kits on eBay, but wasn't sure of their quality.  Might give them a go now - anyone else tried them?

I used their bush kit recently and couldn't believe the difference it made to the smoothness of the gear change, although I did also put in a weighted shift rod at the same time which makes the whole changing business more precise feeling. Well worth the faff and the dosh.
