16v injectors
« on: 17 July 2009, 23:27 »
Hi

Think I have a injector problem on my 1990 (H) 16v so I bought some from a forum member which came out of a Greg 1990 but they are different to mine.

The bosch part number on mine are 0437 602 043... the ones I have bought are 0437 602 041.

Does anyone know if my car has the original injectors or are the ones I've bought the correct ones for my car?
Also the threads are different sizes and slightly bigger on the ones I've bought.

(Could I get over it by also buying the injector pipes that match the new injectors or is there a fuel pressure difference?)

Any help would be great

Thanks

There are definitely two different threads used on K-Jet systems.  You seem to have got both there.  It's either replacement lines for about £80 from Goodridge, or the right replacement injectors.

To be fair I think replacing your 18 year old injectors with some 19 year old injectors is something of a pointless exercise.  Buy new ones that fit instead.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

As above, much better bet is to fit new.

Hi,
I know what you mean about buying new and I intend to if I can prove that the injectors are the problem.
Its either injectors or metering head....I just bought these cheap to try.To be honest I thought all 16v injectors on mk2s were the same.Apart from the obvious what are the differences??

Thanks

you could send the old ones off for ultrasonic cleaning?
Pretty sure you could pick up a metering head for cheap, search "vw golf mk2 breaking" on ebay, there might even be one near to you...
