light weight wheels?
« on: 07 July 2009, 19:25 »
hello people.
I have 5x100 and basically I want standard light weight VW/seat/audi wheels. I only want 15's but will have 16's. Does anybody body know what wheels are light? I've been looking at wheels on ebay and some of them look very heavy, but the standard mk3 bbs wheels look light, but anything lighter than them? Would be a great help.

I wouldnt think any OE wheels would be particularly light, they are usually very expensive due to the way they are made. Rota do some but are very jap looking. Team dynamics pro race are light

Standard VR6 wheels 6.5 inches wide with 205 50 15 tyres weigh 16 kgs
Standard Longbeach 6.5 inches wide with 205 50 15 tyres weigh 16 kilos
Some type of Corrado / Passat alloys 6 inches wide with 205 50 15 tyres weigh 15 kilos

This will change slightly with tyre manufacturer, and should also decrease if you use 195 50 15 tyres
