abs problem?
« on: 17 June 2009, 19:00 »
i have an abs fault, according to my scanner it is a rear speed sensor!
i have replaced both sides and still i get a fault with the rear right speed sensor.
i had just replaced the discs which meant knocking the old abs ring off with a screw driver, could this be my problem? i suppose if its damaged slightly, there would be fluctuations in what the sensor is picking up????
not only do i get the abs, i  get the (!) light with it.
the abs is kicking in also just i am about to stop.
any ideas?
i also forced the pistons back without opening a bleed nipple, could i have damaged something causing m problem?

im pretty sure the rear discs have the abs ring already fixed to them, as new.

Have you checked the wiring for them under the rear seat?

Have you also checked them with a multi meter?

Is it possibly you havnt fitted them tight/close enough?

took it back apart today and the sensor was scrubbed, so i took the disc off to check the ring and the ring fell on the floor as i removed the disc;o)
secured it back on with a bit tape on the inner to keep it on and the lights went out after about 40ft!
Sorted cheers.
