1.9 TDI MISFIRE PROBLEM..PLEASE HELP
« on: 01 July 2009, 04:18 »
Morning

I am new to the site but I have run a Golf 4's for the last ten years.

Can anyone help?? over the last 3 months the engine 1.9 TDI started to misfire, I took the car to a local garage and the pluged her in and said that number 3 injector was no good!! £450 later I get the car back but within ten mins of driving the car does the same?? back she goes.

The guy pluged her in again and said that the same injector number 3 was not working so he then decided that I needed a new loom, £120 later and after a further ten mins driving the car starts to misfire again??

It was then decided that the new injector must be faulty so out it came and was replaced under warranty! I have drove the car for 4 days without a fault until last nite the car started to misfire again??

Can anyone surgest whats wrong?? I dont want to put any more money into the car unles I can be told whats up with it??

Thanks in advance for any ideas what could be wrong??

Sorry to hear of your situation.

I suspect that without posting any error codes, folk will be limited in the advice that can be offered.

Ideally if you know someone with VCDS (Vag-com) then they could scan the car for you and give you a printout.
Without traction power is nothing!
