Fuel Filler Cap

I Have a problem boys and girls... when i press the button for the filler cap nothing happens no solenoid noises or anything i have to pry it open with my key which i dont really want to do incase i scratch the paint! any ideas where to start??

i think you can gain access from behind the rear drivers light to manually release it

sounds like you may have to replace the soleniod / motor which will involve removing the rear parcel shelf support - fiddily but not impossible

not really - most cars will have an access point for exactly the same situation

open the boot and there's a piece of trim above the rear light which can be removed - you might be able to get your hand in to release the cap

not sure about how its put together mind - have a look on www.vwvortex.com should be a how-to guide somewhere on there
