surely the hot weather means the air is less dense, so less oxygen is available for combustion, meaning reduced power?
So you'd have to hit the gas pedal harder to get more acceleration?
Leading to increased mpg?

Best thing to do is cool the incoming air down with an intercooler.

And drive at night!

I can feel the surge of power isnt quite what it is when the weather is cold but its not that noticable

....Yes, I'd describe it as there being an extra 'boost' feeling when the outside air is cool and crisp. My bottle is half-full and not half-empty.

It's 30 degrees here in Zurich. Been 35.  I am thinking about Forge intercooler install now.

I did not get this with AC. So when it is hot outside it is beneficial to the engine to run AC?

....Absolutely true, but how do you accurately enough measure how much harder you hit the gas pedal when driving? Increased mpg? - Probably, but personally I don't tend to ever study that.

Anyway, I think your increased mpg must be down to extra weight from all the sweetie eating     : -
