FYI

The p/n and description on the invoice sent off to Tesco was:

06F 129 101L    Valve
06F 103 483E    Gasket

Fault was noted as the recirculating valve in manifold.

Ordered the TSi DV and an air filter today, £48.50 inc vat.

Should be here tomorrow, will let you know how I get on!

You should try removing you air mass meter then go for a 2minute test drive. see if the idling has gone or is still there. if it has gone this means you mass air flow sensor has burnd out. i had you symptoms too and this fixed it. although try the others methods first as this is more expensive.
