electric window prob
« on: 28 August 2004, 18:52 »
H 90 5 door,
maybe i can save some hassle here.
basically wind down the passenger window to the bottom and the gear slips and wont return the window back up unless i help it up.
the drive or worm gear on the motor, is it a common thing to wear out?
What normally goes wrong?i think it been apart before and maybe someone hasn't put it back together properly. it is a bit tight compared to the other windows.
it's a bit late to take it apart now so i may do it tommorow.

so i got it apart and the problem is the cable has worn out.
i got in touch with my local VW parts shop(B+B components, maidstone) and he can get one for ?65+vat.

obviously i would like it to be cheaper, but i would prefer a new one rather than breakers parts.

Anyone know of a cheaper deal on this?: Front, passenger side, electric window mechanism, without motor, 5 door 90 mkII
