I do understand what you mean AlanD.
Before I had the pescaras I had some R32 copies on from a previous owner (the original owner had 17s on from factory). I had 2 buckeled wheels so decided to off the lot, my intention was to get Monzas...but good genuine examples were just nowhere to be found, I searched for months and even had a run in with a dodgy seller on ebay! All that and they actually have a lot of issues with white worm etc.
I wanted genuine VW wheels and these Pescaras came up for sale, which I think look fabulous in the flesh. So, I guess you could say I went from a cheap wannabe to a genuine wannabe..
.perhaps not for the "purist" however I think on balance that I made the correct decision. This was re-inforced when I actually drove the car with these on....the handling was improved significantly too, its not just cosmetic.
