just bought a 8v gti

I just bought a 95 8v gti,its my first mk 8v gti ave had lots of mk2 gtis 8v and 16v.I hav had a 97 mk3 16v.
the question I have is I noticed I have a oil leak is this common ??where would the problem be??

i have one, its coming from the rocker cover gasket, but it can come from many different places

welcome to the mk3 8v club then 

where is the oil at?? can you not see where it's coming from? generally it shouldn't leak... a bit like people shouldn't bleed... although this is a different case for half the population.

Try checking the oil pressure switch! That is a fairly common place for oil leaks I think!

cheers for the help ill have a good look 2morow and will update as to where the leak mite be comming from.

mine is the exact same m8.mine has a leak from the gearbox where the driveshafts go into it.my sub frame is covered in oil due to this

same here on my gear box but its not that bad really, when get chance i'll get it sorted... I hope
