Ok, the new conclusion is to be a hater, and not have the fun of making a car what it is!

How a hater?
Why spend a great deal of time and money when you can buy the real thing?
And the resale value too! You still wont have a Mk3 VR6 but an 8v Mk3 with a botched VR6 conversion!

Theres the hate. lol.

If somebody wants to do a conversion, let them do it without hating on them, give them the advice they want.

yes you loose money, and yes it takes time, and yes you can buy a poor nic vr6 with a tatty engine bay, that someone else has made, for about 2k.

But its fun to do the conversion, if your really into your cars... And it wont be a botched job either if you do it right! And will run/look better than a bought VR6, depending on how much effort you put into it.

Spending money on anything on your car is a waste, wether its a new pair of bumpers, or coilovers. You wont get that money back. But you do it anyway.

And a VR6 conversion into a good 8v dont cost sod all, half of you have spent more on alloy wheels, which you then kurb!

i hear what your saying mikester, an engine swap is great fun to do no matter what engine you are sticking in. however alot of the people that seem to be 'thinking about doing this conversion' dont seem to know the differnce between a nut and a bolt so would have NO hope of doing the conversion themselves making thw whole thing pointless..

but if your serious check the maintence section for links to supercharger conversions (they seem popular in the america's!)

although i would go for a 1.8t conversion as all the parts (and expertise) are readily avalible (check lazylunatics thread in dubrides/projects for more info) oh and the engines are cheapish too
