Crazy Fan

The fan on my car, Untill just before Xmas only used to come on after a very long journey, However as winter approached it stopped working all togeather, I put this down to the temprature and didnt worrie about it.

However through spring it still never kicked in, Untill i washed out the engine two weeks ago, Now however, It wont stop working! Every time i park up, even after idoling in my driveway for 20 seconds, the fan will activate for a good 5-10 mins.

Im not entirly sure how the fan system works, But i was wondering if maybe there is a senser of some kind that is blocked by water, and maybe the water is heating up making the motor think its hotter than it is, Or anyother solution, Ive had a look and scratched my head a few times, Taken all the connectors out and cleaned them, Maybe its normal behaviour? Either way i figured id ask here.

i had similar problem mine turned out to be the sensor on the bottom right of the radiator, if ur standing face on to the car., its something like a 24mm nut type jobie, quiet simple to change just remember to leave ur heater switched to hot when u fill her back up

Sounds about normal to me, mine sometimes stays on when I stop my engine. If the oil temp on the MFA is ok and the temp gauge looks normal then I wouldn't worry about it.

Well this is wierd, Last night the car sat in the drive from 6pm onwards, At 11pm i went out to make sure the car was locked, And the fan had come on, Stayed on for a few mins, Then went off

maybe the f**kin thing has got a mind of its own
