really loud knocking on rear of my gti help please

got a really loud knocking from the rear of my golf gti it sounds like the exhuast is knock when i go round corners also i didnt realize that mk4 dont have springs on there rear shocks is this normal

either exhuast mount or your rear bushes have gone - quite a few recent threads on this so have a search

yep thats normal as the mK4 has a fixed rear axle - no trick suspension setup like the MK5 or other equivalent hatches
