HELP! Lost 5th Gear...

Hi Guys

Ok was drive the car quite hard tonight and then realised i had lost 5th gear. will not go across on the selector to 5th from 4th straight up will take u back to fouth but not slot to go across to 5th.

Any ideas?

Excuse me for being thick.. but if i take the gear gaitor off will i be able to see this.. Ive read a few other posts and they say gear linkage can stop this.. WHERE IS IT...

This seems to be my problem... any ideas what this plactic bit is called.. need a new one..

part number you want is 191 711 595 A

also get yourself a weighted shift rod off a mk3 golf (not gti or vr6), will make gear changes alot more smoother and iron out any 2nd gear scrunch you might get

they r only ?1.50 at euro parts i think! mine snapped after i had the clutch replaced was fun stuck it third! lol give them a call they normally stock them!
