cabrio 2l conversion
« on: 16 May 2009, 10:59 »
Right here goes....Think i'm in the right section (mk1 section new-be!)

Just brought this off ebay......

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=250421685437

but looking to put it in a car and keep my mk2 for a daily...and my first choice would be a cabrio (not avant garde!!)

My question is, I know it will bolt straight into a mk2 but what about the cabrio's because aren't they a slightly different set up?
When does K-jet become digi and would it still be a straight forward swap if the engine was k-jet?

I have looked at mk1 engine conversions that have used the 2L  bottom end but they all seem to have the original head on which is different to the one on this..........or am I just over complicating things!!

cheers for your time

that has the mk2 head on it, so it will be a direct fit with either k-jet or digi, just swap injector inserts to suit. if you have k-jet the only issue is the dizzy, you need a dizzy adaptor ring to allow you to fit a k-jet gti dizzy, plus you need to swap the gear on the bottom over for a 2.0 one.
