Bose for a mk2 gti?

Has anybody here done this or know of a way of doing it, I know you can get bose for TT's and stuff, any information about if it can be done and where to buy it will be apreciated.

Also, how much in general would it cost for a 'normal' system, not talking about all out like sub and stuff, maybe door speakers and parcel shelf ones or something.

'Bose' are just a maker of audio stuff.  They've presumably got some exclusive deal with VAG as an upgrade 'name' on their systems.

Just buy some good quality components and fit them well and it'll sound 'better' (although a car is a rubbish place for an audio system at any rate).

true, I am just sick of seeing systems that have so much bass but sh!t sound quality and know they make good speakers for car's, probably other makes out there also.

Leave the Bose system for posers in TTs. Go to a car audio specialist and get yourself a decent system for 1/4 of the price.

Yeah, the Bose system in the TT was really awful. The only good bose speakers i have seen is the ipod dock, it makes some mad bass and sounds quite good, costs £300 though!

I'd say it's probably gonna be a bit of a headache to fit.
From the research I've done around my Audi A4's system, it seems like some Audi's were offered with it as either a full or part system. And it uses a power amp for each speaker, so you have to get pre-outs connected from your head unit. This meant if you wanted to use a non-OEM head unit in the car you need an expensive ISO loom to connect to the BOSE system.

If you're putting a TT or A3 dash into a Mk2, then completing it with the original Audi/Bose head unit and speaker system would be neat, but otherwise, I don't think it'd be worth it as you can get just as good results from other manufacturers.

Bose is sh1t. Bang & Olufsen is better but not worth the money IMO because my mk2 audio p1sses on the lot of em  as mentioned. get yourself down to an audio specialist.

I think the US had some audio upgrade in the mk2's. Aktiv i think they called it. The speakers look minging!

if you want a good system.

replace the dash speakers stick a capacitor in line and feed them off the frount left and right headunit channels,   put the rear left and right head unit channels to a pair of comonets in the rear doors

now find a decent 2 channel 100 or 150 w amp use one pair of rca outs to run this it powers components in the frount doors, then a 200 - 400 w two channel amp feeding 8" or 10" PA speackers ( car subs are sh!te pa speakers will do a lot mor emidrange and bass as well )
