I can't remember seeing any on a Golf, but on a 306, they weigh about half the weight of the OE bonnet (30 kg vs 60 kg).  They're not cheap, either, so are a lot of dollar for that kind of weight saving, IMO.  (Besides, they look out of place on a road car, IMO - Even more so, on the wrong colour car???  :undecided:

For no outlay at all, you could strip your car & get rid of between 50-100 kg's quite easily! (Depending on how far you want to go).  The carpet will weigh about 20 kg's, you could take out your spare wheel & buy some tyre foam instead, take the rear seats, parcel shelf etc out??  It all adds up.  You'd be surprised how much that lot weighed, if you totted it all up.

Engine wise, I'd maybe look into getting an exhaust, but I personally don't think it'd be worthwhile spending lots of cash on the lump (it takes a lot of cash to extract decent power from naturally aspirated engines).  eg. Your I.K. & exhaust will give between 5-10 bhp - TOPS.  & that's the best part of £500-600 gone already!

Cheers for the replys iv already spent the day removing interior parts that  i dont need kind of regretting it now i think im gonna go down the route of styling over bhp as like you said its goona cost far to much iv seen a front bumper conversion to look like a mk5 and a r32 rear bumper my mate also told of a company called lite tuned they do not only carbon fibre bonnets but carbon fibre boot lids which sound cool, my car is black so it wont look to out of place, fingers crossed
