spark plugs

hi guys, up at the crack of dawn this morning to change the spark plugs on my vr6. tried to use the tool supplied by vw only managed to pull 2 ends of the leads off. Any ideas on how to get the plugs out please. only managed the 2 easy ones :embarassed:

should just be a 14mm spark plug socket...?
or it is on the 2l 8v
maybe a bit bigger but you should ust unscrew them..?

I think he means the tool to remove the ht leads.
There is a lip on the metal part of the ht lead, you should be able to put the tool over the lead and hook it round this.
If all else fails, buy a set of really long nosed pliers, but be careful not to damage the ht leads.

yes its the leads the tool seems to keep slipping off tried to pull the leads off using some pliers and the inside of the lead stuck onto the plug so had to replace 2 leads  :nerd:

You might have non standard leads on it, cheap copies.

not sure all i know is that tried again now tore the end of the lead off one and the top that fits onto the plug is stock in the hole so cant get the plug out or the other one please help asap

Heat it up and pull if off. Or get some fairy liquid to act as a lubricant.

Sounds like someone has left the cap on the top of the spark plug on and the forced it onto the lead.
