8v Gti Bottom end convertion

Guys,
Would i be right in saying that any of the mk3 GTi 8v bottom ends, be it the AGG, 2E block etc will all fit to my MK2 8v head.

My current conversion was carrie out by a friend of mine and he cannot remember what block he used. That has since died so i am now looking into a new block.
