Engine code and disc dilemma

Im on the www at work looking to order some break discs for my Golf mk2 8v Gti 1989'.
I wanna make sure i'm getting the right ones.. so would like the engine code for my car if anyone knows to hand?
I've looked here:
http://www.sun-diagnostics.com/intl/en/pdf/html/full_vw.html
(having searched the forum and find the link from somebody elses thread)
And have narrowed it down to a few possibles.. but not sure??!!
Secondly, the discs im looking at getting are between Brembos and ATE. Brembos appear to be £39.99 per disc and ATE around £20 a disc. Have i got that right???
Is it worth spending a bit more on the brembos??
From these links..
http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen-Golf-1.8-1989/p/Car-Parts/Brakes/Brake-Friction/Brake-Discs
(second disc down?)
and
https://secure.gsfcarparts.com/shop/results.asp
("62365F BRAKE DISC-VENTED X DRILL G2 1.8 8V GTi 39.95" these ones?
)
Im going to combine the new discs with some green stuff pads
Cheers Tom

Thanks, needed that just to be doubly sure. Went for the ATE discs in the end. Read up on them on the forum. Seem to be a good buy. Will fit them this weekend
cheers
