For not other reason, but to tell everyone...

It's alive, after nearly a year in the garage collecting dust, my lovely MK1 1600 GTi fired on the key , then spat a f*&$ off large flame out of the exhaust , so I put the plug leads in the right order :embarassed: (always helps) and she ran up with no problems.

Adjusted the gear-linkage as per haynes manual, as adhusting it by the smack it and see method caused me to select third and blow it to pieces coming back from Stoner last year, I can now select all the gears, and they are where they should be.

I have checked everything for the MOT, spent 1/2 hour wondering why left hand indicators wouldn't work, then smacked the fuse box, et volia, it works!

I now have the dreaded job of leaving my pride and joy with some garage whilst it gets an MOT and hopefully no test drive...

Pictures when it pass's, has a new ticket and it all shiney.

Cheers

It failed    on rear brakes no effort and emmisions high enough to kill an elephant...

Stripped the rear brakes apart, only slightly seized (didn't check that...) and spent 2 hours trying to get it not drinking super plus faster than I can put it in.

Then it Passed
Took it for a test drive (after taxing it), with the rev limiter back on  :undecided:, my god it hits that fast and hard, may have to remove it

After driving my accord for a year, it is soooo hard, need adjustable dampers, but man alive when you nail it, the speedo rips round with a pleasing pace!

Enjoy the summer boys and girls

Glad to hear another one is up and running. The joys of driving a light car, they accelerate nicely and go round corners properly without all that weight to shift around.
