gearbox help

hi i just need to know a mate has an 8v mk3 but gearbox has gone its a p reg agg engine what i need to know is will a gear box out of a k reg be any good

its the same type so will bolt directly on..... condition wise is impossible to know! Mines on 125k on the original box but I know others have failed before then! It's impossible to say how good the box will be and it's wise to buy from a breaker who gives a gaurantee

yes i did think that my self just was not sure if they was the same or not he has all gear but reverse quite funny really when im out with him and he has to get out to push hes car
