Best place for small parts?
« on: 06 April 2009, 19:21 »
Hi guys

Any idea where the best place to go is for odds n sods? Need a new indicator bulb connector for a big bumper indicator. Thought it was just the bulb that had blown but after taking the lense off it appears there is no bumb or holder just 2 wires!!!

For things like that I would either visit a scrappy as they come on a fair few cars except golfs, or direct from VW.  The dealer is fairly expensive, but for things like you mentioned its never going to break ones bank! Ben

Check at motor factors, then main dealer.  No point wasting time, especially not hunting for a Golf2 in a scrappy - about as common as a Beetle these days.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

You should get a completely new indicator from GSF, I would think.

I bought a Mk1 indicator there recently. All shiny, as if catapulted back to 1974

the indicator loom is only a short piece of loom and was about £7 new from vw

Personally i go to the dealers first, people always assume that everything will be mega money but a lot of the time i find the parts prices quite reasonable on a lot of things, obviously if its hideously expensive then i go to the motor factors
