hi i new to the web site can some one help me with my problem there is a plug on the side of my mk3 golf gti engine block with a spad connector on it but when the engine is warm the oil leaks from it really bad what is this plug please help gordon

when you say side of engine, do you really mean the front of the block by the oil filter housing?..
if so its your oil temp sensor.. change it and it will stop.. its a common fault apparently.

hi thanks for reply and i mean if you look at the engine from the front it is on the right hand side of the block like it screwed in just below the rocker from the side it has got a spade connector on it with like a rubber cap on it to stop anything getting on it many thanks gordon

itsa oil pressure switch very common to blow by and there around a fiver from partco  :wink:
corrado 16v lowered,leather,grill,oz route,m3 lights polished engine,
mk1 golf cabby not alot done but in primer

Yeah sounds like the oil switch! Mine leaks a bit too the swine!

hi yeh when my engine is warm its almost pumps out so i best replace it it only come on saturday an havent drove it since as i have read tonight some people say it can lead to bearing going is this true cheers gordon

there's 2 oil pressure switches fitted!! make sure you have a good look at the one you need to match it up
and the only way your bearings could get damaged is by running out of oil!! as long as you keep it topped up, you'll be fine  :smiley:
