Fecking fuel relay - No. 62 alternative?
« on: 29 March 2009, 21:06 »
Hey troops - my fuel relay decided it didn't want to work anymore and gave up when I was parked in the drop off zone in the airport! Its all pretty blackened inside so I'm guessing its had it - I just had to be trailered back by the AA :(

So I need to find an alternative quick for the MOT tommorow - I know I can just bridge it, but thats not the safest route to go down.
A new one is £30 from the dealer - does anyone know where I can find an alternative, ie. what cars might have it, or what year?

I have a spare 272 kicking about - but I'm not sure if its the same as the 62, but its in Manchester right now, so I can't compare the two.

Heeeeeelp meeeeeeeee

I'm in Glasgow at the mo! GSF have a couple listed, ones £20 and ones £8 - I know which one is going to fit mine :(

I'll pop by later today after I've had some kip!

im afraid the k-jet relay is pretty much specific to your car, they have a signal from the rev counter so they know the engine is running. later cars are contrlled by the ecu/ign controller so not suitable. this is why the later ones are cheaper, its a boggo relay

I managed to sort it out :) I opened it up again and saw a slightly dry solder joint. I just re-soldered it and its good as new again.
