INJECTOR CLEANER

Hi..i have just got a 2000 Mk4 Golf Gti Turbo which done just over 129k, and was just wondering if i can use Red-Ex injector cleaner..its been de-cat by the way, but was told that with it being that much millage, it may not be a good idea to start distubing the dirt (if any) thats sunk at the bottom of the tank. So will it cause it more problems if i use it, or not? Also is it a good time to change the fuel filter which i was told that is located at the bottom  rear driver side, and is it difficult to change? thanx

in terms of injector cleaner, i have read reviews before that state to leave it, as it could unsettle dirt that is there, but to be honest that many miles on a golf is not particuarly high, its highish, but the engines can withstand alot more than that!

vw told me they never change them as the only reason if it is needed changeing is if there is a problem with it so anyway i got 1 piece of mind really.

what a t"@t to get off and i never got it off get the filter if u want to but get a garage to change it,

i wud leave the red ex m8 my old 1 had 149000 miles on it never had a prob with it till i crashed it.

Thanx for that advice, i think its best to leave it then, just incase..knowing my luck, something will go wrong! lol. I dont tend to have that much luck on cars! Plz dont get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with the car now, i just thought it may make it run abit better, and more fuel economy!

i stick half a bottle of redex in every so often (half a bottle for 50l of fuel, but i just put in half a bottle no matter how much i got in there).
It does run smoother for sure, MPG wise cant really notice much.

Thanx..im very tempted to give mine a go, but im just abit worried if it disturb the too much dirts at the bottom of the tank, and start causing spluttering, and stalling problems..due to its high millage, as i had this sort of problems before on my previous cars!

Im not sure about this redex stuff, i used it and then a few miles later needed to replace my Lambda and MAF, probably needed doing anyway but i dont think it helped.

if it runs fine leave it is my moto!, ive took my injectors out and soaked em overnght in cleaner and put em back in, ddnt make any difference!
